If you will be selling goods or services in the State of Connecticut, you must obtain a Sales and Use Tax Permit from the Department of Revenue Services. If you are selling at a flea market, craft show, trade show, antique show, or any type of market you will need this whether you will be selling for one day or many days. You must display the permit prominently at your booth or table. There is a one-time fee of $100 to obtain the permit and it is renewed every 2 years for free as long as you are up to date filing your tax returns (whether monthly, quarterly, or yearly). Even if your sales are $0, you must still file each period. Most other states also require sales tax permits and you need one for each state you will be physically selling in. Below are links to pages where you can apply for permits and get more information. If you have questions, call the Department of Revenue Services. They are usually very helpful and can answer any question you may have.
